Story of a Tree

There are along row of trees that has been providing shade for many Toa Payohians in their daily walk towards the MRT station or Bus Interchange. One day, as I was commuting along this path, I noticed that there were some workers sawing the roots of these giant trees!

I was curious to find out what they were doing and when they saw me taking photos, they quickly took away their saw and stopped all activities that seems like it would hurt the trees! That made me MORE suspicious of what they were doing. Was it something that was not supposed to happen? hmm.....

Next, a chinese man who seems to be the foreman of the work area came to ask me if I am from any agency etc. I told that I was just taking some pictures and he gave some instructions to his workers and they started to move away from the roots!

They were trying to extend the pedestrian walkway over to where the roots were, because some of the roots were sticking up and made it impossible for them to build the extension, they resort to trimming the roots!
