Fun Fairs!

I love setting up a stall at fun fairs! hee.... mad eh?

The two that I've participated in brought back hilarious memories.

In Sec 3, our school decided to do the fashionable thing by having a fun fair to raise funds. Every class have to set up a stall. So after much deliberation, our class decided to do a Pizza store. So a friend offered her giant mansion as the cooking base for about 8 of us to gather at her house the day before to prepare the food....

I must admit that I was rather sua ku in those days, I did not take a good look nor took a grand tour of the house of many floors and rooms. So after spending almost the entire night in the kitchen cutting, chopping, kneading, rolling etc one by one my classmates dropped off to bed like flies. Leaving me another last warrior to finish with the packing and cleaning.

We were both dead tired in a totally new house, none of us can remember which is the room to our friends' bedroom!!

We were also too shy to open the doors to each of the rooms to try to find her. So we decided to find a room located on the ground floor and just make do with whatever we have, since its only a couple of hours before we leave for school. We were so glad to find a bed in that room, no bedsheets, no pillows, no bed covers... we did not need them to fall asleep for sure. We were so tired!

Happily we navigated towards the bed in the dark and closed our eyes... sleep was heavenly.

Before long, irritating buzzing noise around our ears woke us up along with the intense itch of many mozzie bites on our bodies!!

Sickening!

We hunted around the room for something useful to defend against these pests. Only way out is to turn on the aircon and chill our bodies such that it would not attract the mozzies anymore. After some hunting, we finally located the remote control for the aircon, fiddled with it till it was turned on. Ah, peace again.

Then, it became too cold for me! I have to struggle with either mozzie bites or cold night... SIGH. It was such an unforgettable experience.

2nd fun fair was when I was in JC, our JC is famous for fun fairs... I was responsible for the games stall, so we crafted the game of Alley Cat. With a few of my team members, we created dustbins, pulley system to lift the bin caps and have a cat jump out of the dustbin. (I still cannot figure out how to get it to work... boys, they have their ways!)

We had more fun throwing the tennis balls towards those folks who are pulling the bin covers behind the canvas ourselves then our players did!! hahaha

That was one long day of sweat, hard work but full of laughter and teasing. Our team bonded really nicely together after that day and we even studied together for our A's. It was really great!

NOW comes the time to prepare for another fun fair!! Charity Fair in May (more details to follow).
