did i mention this before??

hmm.... i think i did.... but my stand is still the same.... I Hate Hypocrites!

there are many who say one thing but goes round your back and does the other.

there are those who appear non-chalent but actually sniffed out alot of other info.

maybe I'm been too sensitive but I still hate to know that there are plans/ideas/thoughts discussed. Maybe its how i'm manufactured/wired, just makes me sick that people cannot be totally honest with each other, share what they feel and move on with life.

Is it that difficult??

Often people talk about "Oh, you must also consider the other party's feelings..." if so, does being hypocritical INCLUDE the other party's feelings? What happens when the other party finds out that all along whatever you've been saying to him/her is not actually the real truth?? hahaha IrOnY hor!

I wanna go dancing BUT....

I was searching amongst my 48pairs of shoes for the right one to go dancing in and I found that I dun have any dancing shoes!!!

*boo hoo hoo*

I need a pair of dancing shoes!!!

i wore out the last two pairs that I had and failed to get their replacements. My current shoe collection are either too high or too flat. Either too formal or too pointy (cannot sustain for long)

*sigh* how to go dancing like that???

I need to go Shoe SHOPPING hahahahaha (another good excuse for me to enlarge my shoe collection during this GSS period)

Menopause discussed...

Was chatting with a very learned lady on this topic and she was the best person to consult on Menopause....

Because she started a support group for menopausal women 12years ago. Today the support group has a big group of dedicated volunteers who go around to even the different community clubs to set up "booth" for anyone to ask them questions in a walk-in fashion.

For every woman, the hormonal changes that the body under go each month is interesting enough to create massive blood flow out of the body, preparation for a potential sucessful fertilisation and in turn causes the woman to have mood swings.

In the 12years of this lady's career as a support group volunteer, she revealed that she lost one woman. This woman was severely depressed as a result of menopause and before the support group could do their part for her, she has given up on herself and committed suicide.

Sad to think and even know that one can be so utterly depressed that they want to kill themself isnt it?

Then she related another case to us.... Lets' call her M.

M called up this lady one morning asking her when is her next support group meeting. It was a monday. The next meeting was on Friday. M told her that she cannot wait till Friday to talk to someone about her issues. So sensing that this is an urgent case and unable to find a suitable meeting time. This lady suggested for M to come over to her home to talk to her immediately. M quickly responded that she's at work and will not be able to leave until the evening. So this lady told her to come by the same day to her home since she'll be at home whole day. At 3pm, M called to say that she could get a few hours early off work to meet her. So they met at this lady's home.

M revealed that she's feeling sucidal for about 2weeks. She's in late 40s, start of her menopause. She also attributed her depression to her son's poor behaviour in school. Causing her to have to attend frequent teacher-parent meetings, to assure the school that she will take the son's behaviour in hand.

Upon further query, this lady asked how long has the son been having issues in school? M replied to say for the past year.

So this lady asked, why it did not bother her for the whole year and only in the past 2 weeks?

M was finally convinced that it was the hormonal imbalance in her body that is making her feel so depressed.

This lady suggested for M to go on the hormonal replacement therapy to free herself from the depressed state. M revealed that she has the pills and was not sure if she should start the program.

This lady gave M a run-down of what hormonal replacement therapy can do for her and told her that she'll see the difference in 10days if she takes the pills accordingly.

Still, M was not willing to step out of her comfort zone (or depressed state)....

This lady, with a quick mind striked a bargain with M. She told M, look, you called and came to see me, I let you into my home, you should give me something in return for my time isnt it? So take this pills for 10days, promise me that you will and I'll see you at our next support group meeting in 10days' time. Can you do that for me?

M was moved and agreed.

M did not turn up for the next support group meeting in 10days' time...

Instead, M appeared much later on, but a whole now person, cheerful, positive, approachable. She was thankful for the advice that she took.

What a change!

In this story, I'm hoping to share the thought that if one person can recognise the signs early for depression/mood swings, we can readily find an appropriate solution for it. And no one should suffer alone. For any good or poor reasons, seek help. Talk to a friend, a colleague if you need to, its a healthy outlet to share your woes. M was able to see doctor about her menopausal state, get hold of the pills for HRT for it, continued to seek help when she was not convinced of the effects of the pills and finally got herself out of her depression.

Sometimes it really takes alot of effort to get out of our situation. But we've gotta take that first step and TRY.

Baby A playing with sand

It was the first time we went to the bench with BabyA, boy did we have fun... heh heh heh *evil grin* (yep how did you guess that we possibly had more fun than BabyA did?? heh heh heh)

Ad went to get BabyA a set of "tools" for playing in the sand, before Ad got back from the shop, BabyA was already covered in sand! ha ha ha... I sat there watching him mesh sand with his fingers, feeling the sandy texture, memerized by his experience, for almost an hour, we sat there playing in the sand, BabyA was quiet, simply just absorbing every moment of his new adventure with sand. He was actually quiet! haha its hard to believe that....

He learnt how to use the shovel to put sand into the pail really quickly after I showed him how to do it a couple of times, he tried to hold the shovel a few different ways but after some trial and error, he succeeded! And he was getting pretty good at it!

Then he learnt to pour out all the sand in the bucket after filling it up to make a shape! hahaha

well, he doesnt have the strength yet to fill up the whole bucket and compact it to make a soild structure, but he's getting there....

starting all over again....

Check out how father & son is both enjoying their moment....

DaddyA getting ready for the photo moment, dusting off the sand particles on BabyA hee... such a cool shot!

The one who had the most enjoyable experience?? BabyA of course!! :D

I've got my sand castle building tools now, I'll be back at the beach!

I love this shot of him, totally enjoying the "waterfall"-ing over his head!

Be careful with your receipts!

Do you know that the receipts that are generated at cashiers when you pay with credit card has ALOT of personal information about you? Your Card?

In one of our shopping trips, the cashiers mistakenly gave us another person's receipt and we din realised it until we got home and when we looked at it, we got a shock!

It has his full name.
Full credit card number.
Expiry date.

information sufficient for anyone to make online transactions with..... all these, you dun even need to steal the card to "buy" things FREEly.

So be sure to watch where your receipts go when you shop....

The hard work of getting along

by Jon Walker

“Let us agree to use all our energy in getting along with each other.” (Romans 14:19a MSG)

If you have children, you’ll know exactly what I mean: Some days you look into their faces, and you see the attitudes of angels; on other days you want to scream, “Why can’t you just get along!” as they get into a ridiculous argument about who moved a toy 1/32nd of an inch.

Sometimes these opposite attitudes shift back and forth six times in five minutes!

But let me ask you this: Do you think God ever looks at us – we adults, believers in community together – and sighs, “Why can’t my children just get along?’”

There are dozens of reasons we don’t get along with each other – with the sin of pride right at the top of the list. But I think another huge reason we fail to live in authentic, consistent, committed Christian community is because it’s too hard.

It requires real effort to work through our differences, to remain transparent and honest, to confront and to pay close attention to each other. Frankly, it’s easier to keep relationships superficial, to “demonize” one another when we don’t agree, to cut and run at the first sign of trouble rather than commit to each other.

Yet God placed within us a need for “stick-with-it” commitments; his commitment to us is unbreakable, and he wants to see us extend the same commitment to each other (2 Corinthians 8:5). But this kind of commitment takes time – something that has become far too scarce in our lives today (and that, my friend, is a choice).

God knows we will live in a healthy, Christian community if we will commit to living our lives together beyond our weekly meetings, if we will make each other a priority - sharing our lives over coffee, after work, at the ballpark, in the hospital.

The only way for us to become a “friend who sticks closer than a brother” (Proverbs 18:24) is when we focus on the quality of our relationships, not mere quantity or mere acquaintances.

“You can develop a healthy, robust community that lives right with God and enjoy its results only if you do the hard work of getting along with each other, treating each other with dignity and honor.” (James 3:18 MSG, Emphasis mine)

So what?

· Love no matter what

How can you plan to help others at all times, not just when it’s convenient? (Proverbs 17:17)
How can you develop a strategy for loving others at their worst, not just when they seem lovable? (Romans 5:8)
· Show up – The most basic behavior of commitment is simply showing up. “If you care, you’ll be there.” You may be surprised that your mere presence is a source of encouragement. (Hebrews 10:25)

· Intentional commitments – Other than your spouse, have you ever told someone else, “I will always be there for you”? This week, establish an intentional commitment with another believer. Approach the Spirit’s choice and bless that person by saying, “I want to grow close to you as a friend.”

Girls weekend OUT

Here's a video clip of how 3 pretty girls left their homes, husbands behind to be at a church retreat and some of their thoughts on the retreat.....

Making money vs Being Socially Responsible

In this recent years, many production lines for medicine, clothes, food items are shifted to China for production because of the cheaper production cost and the rising standards in productions. However, there are also many more reports of "fake" productions or replacement of an expensive ingredient with a cheaper alternative which can take away lives. At the end of the day, those merchants who switch these ingredients around not only violated the production agreement, they are also directly responsible for the damages caused.

My question is: How can these people sleep at night? Knowing that they are possibly murderers??

There is a need for checks on the authencity of the goods that come out of China productions. I'm not saying that ALL products are ingenunie, but it just take ONE to be ingenunie and many will die from it. Shouldn't there be more care & concern about it?

Baby A the DANCER

Baby A's first exploration trip to the airport brought out this super duper cute part of him (which we dunno how long it'll last, so we better enjoy all we can while it lasts hee). He dances to music! Different moves to different beat! Truly amazing!! He's such an expressive kid!

In this shop, he was happily dancing away, when I took out my camera to start to film him, he came towards me, so I told him hey can you go back there and dance again for me??

HE DID just that! turned around and started dancing!! just 16months old, amazing!
