Do you know that 1 in 3 marriages break down in Singapore ending in a divorce?

Do you ever wonder to yourself if your marriage will also end up in a divorce when you first get married?

I doubt that.

For all those madly in love, crazily passionate about each other, cant wait to start their own family, walk down the aisle, sign on their ROM certification....

How many actually stopped for a moment to consider their odds of ending their marriages in a divorce?

If you can spend 1 year's time to prepare for your big day, checking out the hotel prices, wedding gown packages, wedding photography, talking about the different customs and traditions to "obey" etc.

How much MORE should you spend at working on a lifetime marriage?

I have always felt strongly about knowing what's to come in a marriage, before our ROM, we attended our MPC (Marriage Preparation Course).

It took place over 7 weekends, each weekend has a theme and we walked through all the toughest issues that most couples would face in their marriages.

I cannot garantee that every marriage with a MPC will be an ever-lasting one, but at the very least, we have invested time and effort in learning from those who are experienced what it takes to be IN a marriage.

This post is inspired by another divorce that I know of, by a third couple who did not attend any MPC for their marriage.

Some couples were afraid that attending MPC might cause them to break up BEFORE their big day... think about it, wouldn't that be better and getting married for a few years and then getting a divorce?
