Indeed We Are Blessed

We were just chatting and talked about how blessed we are especially in this one year. Despites the downs points, losing one's parent in a foreign land, going through a 5hr marathon in an operating theatre, Yes, We still feel that we are truly blessed.

Ad got his driving license!! (I secretly think that I stand to benefit MOST from this blessings hee....)
We got a lovely home (+extension)
We've got great health! (can walk, can run, can EAT! hmm... last one dunno if its really good)
We have a great bunch of friends, who continue to care for us and love us hee hee...
We have everything that we'll ever need and MORE!

What more can we ask for?

Surprise me oh Lord!

hee hee....

God wants you to have the Good Life

Today's Scripture

"Wisdom is sweet to your soul. If you find it, you will have a bright future, and your hopes will not be cut short." (Proverbs 24:14)

Today's Word from Joel and Victoria

God wants you to have a victorious and blessed life. Sometimes people think that an abundant life full of joy and blessings is waiting in heaven, but the fact is God wants you to have it right now! God wants you to be wise and blessed, and you don't have to wait until eternity to have a bright future! When you pursue God's wisdom you will find that God's promises are as bright as the sunrise. His promised blessings of happiness, fulfillment, favor and wisdom come when we receive them. If you want to have a bright future full of hope and faith, start walking on the path of wisdom today.

A Prayer for Today

God, thank you for Your blessings in my life. Thank you that I don't have to wait until heaven to experience Your joy and the future You have planned for me. Give me the wisdom to receive Your blessings today. In Jesus' name. Amen.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Hello!

Have a happy Thanksgiving!

I know its abit "american-ish" day, but think about it, why wait till Christmas or end of the year to give thanks? That would be a time to celebrate! To go crazy eating and drinking.... So while you are sober, Give Thanks.

Take a moment to think about what the Lord has done for us in this one year, all the good, all the bad, all the challenges and give thanks. For being alive, for being healthy, for being able to access the internet (to some, this could be hell! remember the saying, prison got no broadband?).

If we look carefully, there are so many things we can be grateful for.

Even as simple as a clear blue day. Or a windy breeze coming your way....

A bright smile, a cheeky grin...

Tell those people that mattered to you that you are thankful for them.

A truck load of movers!

Yes, I'm happy with this movers which I found from the newspaper's classified ads.

Contact Marie! cannot find her number now....

but these guys are fast and efficient! The trunk's back has the motorised lift to bring things up the same level as the container on the wheels. cool!!

am very happy that the day ended well..... and cheaper too! ha ha ha....

they were very professional, made sure that i saw every dent on my piano before they wrapped it up with a few layers of thick clothe and gladwrapped it over with plastic as well.

They had a hard time moving the giant piano down the steps, some of the workers din even have time to wear their shoes!! They carried the piano all the way down to the lorry before coming back up to "claim" their shoes.

this is called professionalism!

Kudos to the truck load of folks!

okay.... the anger has subsided...

because I found another mover who gave me a cheaper quote.... but now we'll have to see if they will honor their word of keeping to their time of 5-6pm for the pick up...

more updates to follow the pursue of the PERFECT Piano Mover (PPM).

I have a great mover for everything else except for piano.... this one guy who is a big size smilely face giant, provides affordable moving prices. And he uses a GPS map to navigate between destinations. Very technology savvy. I like. ha ha ha...

he's Albert at 90888890. found him at yahoo auctions. Why am I talking about him? Because I called him to double check if he can help me move my piano and he gave me a good tip to look elsewhere for the service. And let's hope he's right.

I am soooo ANGRY!

I cannot believe how angry I am right NOW.

I wanted to shift my piano from my parent's house to my current place and made arrangements with a mover of "10years experience". He quoted me $120 for the move which I thought was reasonable and we agreed at 10am today. In fact, he said he was available for the WHOLE day today. So I figured better get it sorted out during the early part of the day!

Then he called yesterday evening to change the time to 1130am.... Perhaps he took up another MORE important job. Okay, I was agreeable to the time, thinking that he would be punctual.

At 11am, he sms-ed me to tell me that he was delayed at another job and will be there at 12+. He did not state the exact time.

So I waited from 1130am to 1230pm..... still no sound, no picture, I called him and he told me that he would take another 30-45mins to get to my place!!!!

I got real mad!!

How can he keep shifting the time? like as if the whole just waits for him? I told him that I've got another appt in the afternoon and yet he does it to me! So unreliable. I found him at Singapore Expats.com website, he posted his advert there, he could not even give me a company name to write the cheque to as he was "new".

Which means to say that he's NOT that experienced afterall!!!

I've been conned!!!! wasted my time! I am really really MAD!!!!!!!!!

Dun mention the name Justin for another few months.....

(i think its the anti-hormonal jab working inside me, magnifying my moods, making me feel so so so mad with such a unreliable business person. However, in principle, I think its beyond RUDE to make others wait for you endlessly without any definite time. just plain RUDE!)

I detest Rude People!

Cool Mac Tricks

Woah, its amazing how much cool tricks are packed into one machine....

here's one from Otterman on doing a quick preview of your picture files in a quick and easy way without having to open up any software...

all you need to do is to select your files and "right" click (in the mac term its ctrl+click) and select slideshow! So cool eh? when you want to end it, just hit the ESCAPE key.

Cool tricks with Safari... the default web browser on the mac.

Tab browsing!
Tab browsing was new to me for a while and now its kinda taken for granted... because it is so easy to use it. With tab browsing, it physically "reduce" desktop space! hee hee... so when you are surfing for something, opening up many windows, you dun feel like your whole screen is cluttered with many open windows. Its a brillant solution to today's web surfers.

How do you do it? Go to your Safari at the top menu bar, select Preferences and you'll find Tabs as one of the option, enable it.

How does it look like?

Secured browsing!
Another awesome feature that ensures that your internet banking information is MORE secured... When this feature is enabled, all the information captured during the time will not be saved in the cache. You will HAVE to CLOSE the window of course. Its only valid for that particular window that you enable that feature for.

How?
Go to Safari on the menu bar, click on Private Browsing.

And you will see the following box...

Secure Empty Trash!
Heard of recoverable information from those documents which you have already "discarded"? Do you know that it is still very much possible to retrieve that information from your harddisk? That's why some people will spend lots of $$ to buy software or download them to "write over" the trash 3-7 times to ReaLlY discard them and make the information unrecognisable.

Here on the Mac, its built in. Go to Finder, click on it and you'll see Secure Empty Trash. This way, the documents/information which you want to discard/destroy is truly Gone. Quick and easy, one step. All nicely thought out on the Mac. Why waste time searching for softwares? Install drivers etc? search for compatibilities? Worry if it really does its job? Its all done deal on the Mac.

Chopping Pizza?

Recently, our friends brought us to the wonderful world of frozen pizza when we gobbled down 3 pizzas in their house all in an 1hr... And you can guess what goes into our freezer after that... yes, stock of that frozen pizza! ha ha ha....

But we are not very well-equipped to eat pizza in our house yet... so we have to CHOP the pizza up in order to eat it! ha ha ha...

The Js in my life

I've wanted to blog about this long long time ago, but always felt that I dun have enough time to do justice to the storyline, lets see how we do today....

The Js in my life?? If you believe that different people, things or event happen to you at different points of your life for a certain purpose.... Then these Js in my life are instrumental to many many many parts of mine... Some of them, I am hardly in contact with them, yet, they remain as one of my favorite people...

The first J, stands for Juliet, she's got the most beautiful sounding name I know.... Okay, I was easily impressed by her as I was barely 8yrs old when I first got to know her. She's my aunt, a young, funky, out-going, sociable aunt. Not the kind that orders me around, make me feel like nothing... Juliet was different, she was loving, kind and warm, she opened my life to "Frespatrick" (last time a super high class supermarket bought over by Cold Storage). Yah.... Can you imagine I was a supermarket VIRGIN at 8? She'll bring me to do her grocery shopping with her and tell me what does the rows and rows of food stand for... I was always learning something when I was with her.

She thought me about dining etiquette, importance reading, importance of taking care of our body. She was one lovely women whom I missed dearly.

The next J came much later during my teenage years, with a bunch of girlfriends, we spend a great deal of our time talking about the opposite sex from other schools hee.... but strangely enough, one day, one of our girlfriends brought us to me J, suddenly she was like a different person. She was KUAI! I could not believe my eyes..... She was the one who taught me how to wear short short skirts, how to flirt, how to kiss, how to hang out with boys... after meeting J, she was a totally different person!

Can you guess who is J?

It was Jesus Christ lah! ha ha ha....
(later I found out that she went to cell groups with the intention of meeting MORE boys... but good thing she found Jesus!)

Although I knew Jesus then, I wasn't very close to him, I was too stun to want to know him after seeing the "transformation" that my friend went through, I was happy being who I was. I din need to change any part of my life, besides I know my parents will KILL me if they find out that I'm been seeing Jesus too often....

Yet, even though I kinda mentally "abandon" Jesus, he would show up at my times of need. There was one time just before Easter, I was feeling thoroughly miserable because I was going to sit for a whole string of exams and my bf then was away for a few months.... So the loneliness and exams stress got under my skin and really made me wonder "WHAT IS LIFE?". (ha ha ha.... yah lah, teenage years, all very dramatic wan...)

Then out of the blue, a very old friend called me up to invite me to his church for the Easter play near my house. Of course I said YES! Got chance to go out leh! I went and felt Jesus's love for me. I knew He wanted me to know that He cares for me and He loves me. :)

Next J, is a man! A friend's bf then I knew him now loving husband with a family of 4 kids. John. When we first met him (a bunch of teenage kids hee....), we looked at him and think... "HUH?" Because he was plain looking, he din dress up stylishly nor tease the girls intensively to "pursue" them. Why him?

Instead, he was a man of many talents, he could sing and play the guitar. He wrote a song for my friend, and sang it during their wedding, it brought tears to all our eyes. He was a man who knew what was important for him and he kept focus on them. He has humor and wit that will knock you off your chair any time. He was so much MORE than what we can see from the surface.... and today he's a source of strength and guidance to us, to our marriage because he and his wife (whom I will write about under As hee...), lead an exemplary husband and wife lifestyle.

The next J that made me feel a sense of closeness to her came many years later in uni, she was such a bubbly character and super inquisitive about everything. She was like a younger sister that I never had. I felt the need to guide her and protect her at times hee...

What's her contribution to my life??? AD! ha ha ha.... She was our mei-po (match-maker). She introduced Ad to me under interesting circumstances, unintentionally as well... but its definitely through her that we got to know each other and we are very grateful for her!

Besides her "great contribution" to our lives hee.... she is a great character of fun and spontaneity. The party will always light up whenever she's around (maybe that's why she can be late often, must be cheonging too many parties due to popular demand ha ha ha). What I love about Jas, is that she is very frank and honest, she does not hesitate to tell me that she's getting sick of seeing me 3 times a week and needs a break from that! It doesnt mean that she dun like me anymore, its just that she's got to spend time to indulge in her other things or people, I like that, I respect her for that honesty between friends. She's so full of life and love for living, its almost like feeling energiser bunny in her conversations. ;-)

Next J gave me the best aid I can ever ever find around the lab. She was like my left AND right hand combined! I first met her when she was doing attachment in our lab. She was the first attachment student that I was over-seeing.... I was wary of her because of the stories I hear about attachment students being unrealistic about working world, being difficult and asking for the sky etc. However, Jo was different. She was very very very down to earth. She was alot more matured then any teenage girl I ever know. I was impressed by her down to earth nature and her willingness to learn, her positive attitude in repeating mundane chores. She was also a very cheery person. I looked forward to seeing her everyday, sharing with her my experiences, just to hear her laugh hee...

Now that she's moved on to do something meaningful, I wish her all the best, I'm sure she'll excel in anything that she does, she's just great to have around, anywhere...

This next J in my life has been an interesting character, he's after my husband! YAH! The best part is, J openly declares that they are lovers!!! Can you believe it?

I dunno what makes J so crazy about Ad but strangely enough, it always makes me laugh when I meet J. After a while, I'm begining to laugh LIKE J! Because J has the loudest, laughter! It literately goes HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA without any brakes...

Isn't it amazing? Every single one of these Js brought new insights to my life, shared or still sharing a large part of my life. I've learnt so much from each of them and there's so much MORE to experience together!! And I thank God for putting each and everyone of you in our lives.

cheers to friendship!

Beautiful ME

I just have to share this wonderful series of make up called BareMinerals. I saw an ad on tv when I was in SF and I was so hooked onto it. I had to check it out. There was another person in our group who saw the same ad and was dying to check it out as well!! ha ha ha....

hmm.... I think I should do a series of before and after photos hor.... but in the meantime, u just have fun doodling over their website. They are also available at Sephora. Some of their products are actually cheaper at Sephora hee....

However, if you are new to BareMinerals, you should walk into their boutique, as their store assistant to show you how to put on their best seller, SPF15 foundation.

I was so sold by their basic kit which includes two shades of foundation close to your skin tone, Warmth, which gives a nice healthy look on the face, Radiance which highlights your skin to give it a refreshing look and MineralVeil that locks in all the colors.

I used to be terrified of cosmetics because I dun like the yucky feeling of it on my skin. So I spent little effort in keeping up with the colors and brushes etc.

With BareMinerals, it was so easy, and best of all, it doesnt feel like I have make up on my face at all! I am totally serious about it. There were a few days when I forgot to wash my face off with a proper facial cleanser and my face was still okay! no sudden burst of pimples or anything like that!

With their basic kit, the effects on me was already very very "dramatically natural"! Yes, I feel MORE beautiful! hee....

All their products are main from minerals, so its in really fine fine form. It sits nicely over your skin and it doesnt clog up your pores, my skin can still breathe! Amazing!

The best part is their brushes, its superb! Okay, I cannot talk enough of this product.... because each time I think about it, it makes me very excited! ha ha ha

okay, if you wanna try it out.... gimme a call... we'll arrange for a girly time to play with make up ha ha ha....

Celebrating our union

This month bears special significance to the two of us as we celebrate our marriage, the day when we said our vows in church 3 years ago.

Our church wedding was the most memorable part of the whole wedding, in church, the warmth from the love of God was enveloping us along with the blessings from our family and friends.

Yeah... I couldn't resist.... I was crying the whole time... I just felt so loved.....

So many things So little time

I had great plans for this week.... but its already thursday and I'm barely through item no. 1. Actually, I had barely even STARTED!

Things just seems to JUMP out. And I have the tendency to attend to each and every one of them.

Impatienct I guess.....

Gotta learn to say NO.

Promise that will "cash out"

I tell you the truth, you will weep and mourn while the world rejoices. You will grieve, but your grief will turn to joy. A woman giving birth to a child has pain because her time has come; but when her baby is born she forgets the anguish because of her joy that a child is born into the world. So with you: Now is your time of grief, but I will see you again and you will rejoice, and no one will take away your joy. John 16:20-22 NIV

In recent days, as more friends open up and share their lives with us, we hear alot of pain, alot of suffering, alot of hardships that they are going through. Yes, we all do, in our own ways. Sometimes it could be physically painful, or emotionally draining. Whichever way, whichevery form, its likely God's way of training us to be better people. With faith, we'll be taken care of.

So rejoice today that you're alive, that you have everything in God!

Taking a deep breath

Have you ever stopped for a moment to take a deep breath before walking into heavy downpour with your tiny skinny brolly? Knowing full well that you'll be thoroughly soaked by the time you take your 5th step? Yet, you know you have to take those steps to get across the road....

Did you ever catching yourself taking that deep breath?

I relate that deep breath before the walk into a heavy rain to facing challenging situations in life....

we seems to dread certain events even though we know full well that its coming.... its going to hit us hard.... but the dread gets worse when we think more about it...

so why not take a deep breath, know that you'll be on the other side of the road faster with each step you take....

or enjoy that walk in the rain, getting soaked....

and know that there'll be a warm towel waiting to dry you, keep you warm and safe when you reach home at the end of the day.

hmm..... warm towels.... (its something worth looking forward to...)

CBS on youtube

Even CBS, a television giant uploads on youtube... I'm impressed by how much technology is revoluntionizing the world today.

Was just talking to some friends and realised that if we lose our computers, its like losing a huge part of our lives! Maybe someone should start a memorial service for all the dead machines in the recycling junkyard.... just like the virtual funeral parlours for pets, why not one for our beloved machines?

Baby Talk

One of our favourite babies, baby A has always delighted us whenever we see him.

One day, he came visiting, after a long fruitless attempt to put him to sleep failed, we ended up being extremely entertained by him and his baby talk... note that there are some shakey images because of us holding back our giggles uncontrollably .... hee...

Defining Ha Ha Ha

Just caught this on youtube, definitely a hotie....

The reason why laughter is also known as Ha Ha Ha....

Can or not?

I used to wonder about the salvation of Jesus. Many fervent christians who cannot wait a second to convert me to christianity used to forcefully tell me how big a sinner I was if I did not believe in Christ.

I would ask them, does it mean that if I'm saved by Jesus when I accept him in my life, then I'm SAFE?

What about the new sins? Will they continuously get absorbed by Christ's sacrifice on the cross?

I found the answer today....

If we deliberately keep on sinning after we have received the knowledge of the truth, no sacrifice for sins is left, but only a fearful expectation of judgment and of raging fire that will consume the enemies of God. Anyone who rejected the law of Moses died without mercy on the testimony of two or three witnesses. How much more severely do you think a man deserves to be punished who has trampled the Son of God under foot, who has treated as an unholy thing the blood of the covenant that sanctified him, and who has insulted the Spirit of grace? Hebrews 10:26-29 NIV

This passages tells us that we've got a choice when it comes to sinning...

So what's your choice?

Lights UP

Yep, I was shocked to see that the Christmas lightings are UP along Orchard Road, din we just barely celebrated Deepavali and Hari Raya Puasa?

The merchants seems to be eager to get us to shop and spend again.

Maybe in another 10yrs, they'll keep the Christmast decorations on Orchard Road permernantly. Just to remind Singaporeans of the festive air ALL the time, to boast the economy continuously....

Welcome Baby E

A new baby girl is added to our list of growing families around us.

Please welcome baby E

yep, you would notice that she's got LOTs of black hair ah! Some say, she's got more hair then a 6month old infant... what's the secret?

Beef essences.

I just found out how its done.... you take a big chunk of beef, steam it. Steam and steam and steam, the juice that comes out, its the beef essence. Drink it while you are pregnant and you'll have a baby with lots of hair and other health benefits.

She's born at 3.3kg.... what do u think?

quick fingers

One evening, we had an invitation to go over to D&S's house, their little princess P and prince T were eager to show us around their house, especially their newly done up room. Guess what? Princess P took over my hp quickly and went around the house snapping up pictures... ha ha ha.... she's the real PaPaRaZi!

So enjoy the interesting angles from a 6yr old....
