food for thought
had a pretty good sharing session today with my sis and this 4 pointers came across to her as very insightful and I thought its kinda cool to share and let's explore what are YOUR interpretations of these 4 pointers....
Background:
Sis attended a course which draws lessons learnt from the chinese history, culture and dissect life's real significance.
One of the lessons was centred around a practise by a family for many many generations, her course instructor encouraged them to discuss the significance behind of these "motto" set by this family. So let's see what you can come out with hee...
1. Wake up early each day - not the 7am kind, its the 3 or 4am kind....
2. Clean your house each day - make thorough cleaning of the house including making beds daily for each member of the family
3. Be sincere in offering respects to elders (deceased ancestors) - in the olden days, to pay respects for the family's deceased ancestors, one must abstain from sex, meat etc for a number of days and also meditate etc before they can make the journey to their family graves to offer their respects to their elders.
4. Offer aid to whoever in need, be it a family or friend - includes all forms of aid, financial or physical or emotional.
Can you think of a good moral value behind each of these practises? hee....
i'll explain them some time down the road... give you time to think about them.... pls feel free to leave your comments and we can discuss about it heee...
