Earthly Envy vs Heavenly Wisdom

Who is wise and understanding among you? Let him show it by his good life, by deeds done in the humility that comes from wisdom. But if you harbor bitter envy and selfish ambition in your hearts, do not boast about it or deny the truth. Such 'wisdom' does not come down from heaven but is earthly, unspiritual, of the devil. For where you have envy and selfish ambition, there you find disorder and every evil practice. But the wisdom that comes from heaven is first of all pure; then peace-loving, considerate, submissive, full of mercy and good fruit, impartial and sincere. Sometimes it is hard to see if certain events or persons are truly part of God's army or they are just good at making that false image infront of others. I can be truly active in church related activities but am blind to God's love, deaf to God's actions. On the contrary, I can be a none-church-goer but I read the bible daily, pray and seek God's grace and mercy daily, be reminded of Christ's suffering to redeem us from our sins.

Who can tell, who is more "Godly"?

I think only God can.

But I was taught to pray for the power of discernment when it comes to ambigous situations, when we are lost and confused which is truly a Godly path to follow, you can try it if you are also lost at a junction....

"Lord, grant us also the gift of discernment. knowing what is right, what is wrong, what is from you and what is not. That we learn not to make mistakes, not to commit to the devil and not follow the ways of the dark. Give us wisdom to deal with our adversities in the many ways that challenge us. May you hear our prayers and grant them as we have faith your will. In your son's most precious name, Amen."
