how true this quote is, in my observations, many professions thrive on the "distortion" part of the quote, even though the whole conversation does not contain false information, it can leave a different impression on the other party depending on where the emphasis is placed.
many a times, words are taken out of context from one's mouth and misinterpreted in another's ears.
In chinese we call it: 說者無意 听者有心。
