K food galore!
The best part of having Joi as my sis-in-law is I get to have authentic Korean food as dinner! Hee... *slurp* (of course, the real bonus is for CK to have a partner in life blah blah blah.... for us, its just great to have a lifelier family dinner gathering with her presence.)
So theres' this one night. She got all of us to their place we get to bbq our own pork! The K style! Using a heavy duty cast iron pan, heated over a portable gas stove, the pork is cooked over it till they become golden brown. Yummy! Like my favourite BACON! The cool part about this cast iron pan gadget is that it has a small drainage system around it, so all the oil from cooking the fatty pork bacon is able to get drained out into a bowl below! Cool eh?

Okies, I din manage to snap pictures of the cooking process because I was too busy cooking the pork bacon away (also to make sure that they are done to the crispyness that I LOOOOVVVEEE and also to make sure that I get to eat them FAST hee...)
here's the end product:

But the correct way to eat it is to wrap it up with a leaf of green lettuce, slap on some of the yummy bean paste, put in a fresh garlic, a green chilli and stuff the whole "bun" into your mouth and chew away! heh.... Initially it was fun to wrap. After 5 wraps, it was faster to just put everything into the mouth and munch at them. It would taste the same and have the same shiok effect anyway! ha ha ha.... I guess its just us being Singaporeans.. Lazy and practical. Maybe the real purpose behind the wrap is to create more time inbetween bites to allow the stomach to work on the food constantly rather than all at once. But do we care? ha ha ha....

Dun look down on that green chili, its super potent towards the middle part of it. So lucky for me, when I was challenged to bite on it, I only took the tail end of it. heh... poor CK, he almost choked on it! ha ha ha... It was definitely fun for me to eat fresh garlic like that. I normally stay far far away from such potent stuff. maybe its a different type of garlic... hmm...must find out for future references ha ha ha...
As usual, the table is laid with a whole spread of goodies (or starters they call it, which is enough to fill up my whole stomach if not for the fact that I knew about the pork bacon). Ad's favourite was the preserved anchovies or ikan bilis. He ate so much of it that Joi's mama took note and made extra for us to bring home heh.... (thank you auntie!! *muaks* *Muaks* but our supply at home is fast running out...)

It was definitely a GREAT dinner, for a long time, we did not have such BBQ style dinner so it was fun!
