Is it a Sign? Or shall I hang on?

As many of you may know... I'm a poor student pursuing a further degree... Recently it has been a grilling uphill task to meet the demands of my student life and personal life with family life.

I've contemplated quitting so many times during this one year of studies (2 more to go) that the number of sleepless nights goes beyond what my fingers and toes can count...

My desire for this degree is diminishing FAST with the disappearance of my supervisior.... its like the 2nd time today that he's played me OUT.

Is this a sign? Or is this a test of faith for me to hang onto my degree for the good of mankind??

*SIGH* *HELP!!*

Hey dearie..so he didn't turn up for another meeting..hope it was not one that u rushed down for like the first time...

anyway, i think u should just stick through it...if not for anything but the momentary rewards..hee..thats the pragmatic side of me talking but u know its true with a PhD degree, your pay will be so much higher than a masters..no matter how competent you r...just take me for example..ke will have a higher pay than me soon.sob sob..

yes, i think you should hang in there... just scream for help whenever, or call to vent, or blog about it... but hang in there, it will be worth it. :)
*hugs*

Thank you for your encouragement girls! It's really uplifting to know that I have you folks as my pillars of support who at least for the life of me understand what I meant by lousy expt, terrible PCR, horrible gel etc...

I will continue to persevere with this phd thingy...*teeth gritting*

and YL, i think u shd seriously consider taking up that challenge too! at least if Ke and the rest do earn more then us... it'll b just a transitional phase, not like forever. Plus, u know u have US to grumble to hee... also I know that you've been great at your work, so it should be a breeze sailing through the courses and the expt.

Hang on and hang in there! That's why pple do postgrad degrees. And contribute whatever knowledge you unearth (pun intended) for the good of mankind :) With a free honorific appended to your name after you are done. Very altruistic.
