My Last Few Mins of Being 29!

Hello world,

yes, I'm officially OLD! For a woman, reaching 30 seems to be a NO NO nightmare.

For the longest time, I've dread being 30! But the harsh reality has to arrive, I have to turn OLD!! Yikes! (yes, I'm still trying to denial the fact that i'm getting older by the min... and suddenly when the clock hits 12midnight....I'll be suddenly be in the 30-35 bracket as in Sex in the City)

So I'm dedicate the last 30mins of my YOUTH to my Blog.

I made extra effort to enjoy my last day of being YOUNG in the 20+ age bracket. I took the day off from work! AT least that was my plan when I applied for leave. Yes I sacrifice ONE day of my precious leave to be enjoyed.... facial, lunch meetings, tea parties, a pleasent non-productive but totally fulfilling day....

BUT the new HOD decided to meet our dept on this very day... very first day of the year that my precious leave was taken. I had a call from his secretary to inform me about the meeting... I cant really tell her that I wont be coming cos i'm on leave cos i'm goin to be 30 the next day and NEEDED to stay away from the cruel working world right?

So I ended up "wasting" my time at work for the meeting.

Well, to be fair, a few good things did get brought up and actioned upon during this meeting... just superbly disappointed that it had to happen on MY LEAVE day!

So... I met up with my KL shopping buddy, S (who is still IN the 20+ bracket *sickening*) for late lunch and we shared a pizza that has an EGG on it! Anyone tried?? Honestly its a refreshing idea with a totally OFF taste. So future gourmets, DUN try it! Cos we'll NEVER order that dish ever again.

Despite the funny yolk pizza, we had a swell time discussing WORLDly issues like how IB was an intensive but great study system, what was the perfect method to match our clothes with our shoes and bags (bags and shoes are very essential & impt *head nodding*), so i guess, it was quite a meaningful lunch appt. =D

Then I headed to look for my 30+ bracket friends....ahhh... this is where the fun starts.

Cyn took a first look at me and asked "u did put on some weight ah?" (a sure sign of being in the 30+ bracket *shaking head* there seems NO escape now is there?)

I had to pinch my tummy area and show her the evidence that she was looking for... YES its confirmed! When you turn 30, your tummy just suddenly grows OVERNIGHT and put you right in the age bracket where you belong even though you may totally not look like you are 30... but your tummy tells the truth! =....(

Instead, she welcomed me with open arms into her world (of the 30 bracket) hee...

looking at her and her warmth with people around her, it doesnt seem so bad to be older eh? Its the relationships that you build with people that counts at the end of the day and NOT the age... HEE *cool*

Then we called the Otterman and wriggled him into our favourite passtime together, COFFEE break at good ole Spinellis. He was resistant for a while but broke loose after Cyn's reverse psychology tactics... hee... (see another advantage of being older is you get WISER... you learn how to deal with different people effectively, Yahoo to being 30)

Just for background, the coffeebreaks that we have usually will bring us to dinner breaks to supper breaks and thankfully we havent had one that brought us to dawn-breakfast breaks hee... Cos the 30+ system kinda get exhausted at the Cinderella timing.... (now I dun remember having problems with staying up late when I was in the 10+ bracket...)

So we started our coffeebreak at about 10mins to Five. Feeling excited about my blog, I told them about it.... Cyn being the non-net-surfer, asked what is a blog? So Otterman got really excited and shared about the different blogs that he came across, including how he used the blog to coordinate efforts for Boxing Day's Tidal Wave episode.

Then Z joined the group followed by Dr.L and the group just cannot stop talking and talking and talking, so its a good sign, at least people in the 30 bracket got GREAT jaw muscles! I'm proud to join this group because it means.... I've got a strong jaw! ha ha ha...

okay last 2mins of my 29 life...

3 things i love most of my 20+ life

1. Having the financial freedom to engage in new activities like scuba diving, Holidays, SHOPPING!

2. Having met Ad (my hubby) and getting a place of our own *heavenly* being independent (which actually means having to foot ALL the household bills on our own, deciding what to cook & eat EVERY single DINNER, cleaning the WHOLE entire house, laudry, ironing, etc etc....)

3. Learning to take a step back at life and take a 2nd look at it. (some people call it being Wiser, I strongly AGREE with them hee...)

bye bye 29...
